PROS Mods FAQ
- Q: What is the Summary field for?
- A: This field is for moderators. You can briefly describe the mod’s functionality there, or leave this field empty.
- Q: What is the Homepage field for?
- A: You can add a link to your page. At the moment, we only support links to
discord.gg,twitter.com,youtube.com,github.com, andgitlab.com.
- Q: What is Mod Page URL?
- A: This is the URL where your mod will be available on the PROS portal. The URL is generated automatically based on the mod name. However, if a mod with the same name already exists, you must manually change the URL to make it unique. A non-unique URL is highlighted in red.
- Q: Which installation type should I choose?
- A: If the mod was created using the modding tools provided by the game developer, then the mod is fully supported by the game and you can select the Subscribe type. Players can subscribe to such a mod with a single click, and it can also be installed directly from the game with one click (if the game includes a mod browser). If the mod was created without using the developer's tools, it will not work when installed directly. In this case, the mod author must provide installation instructions and include them in the Detailed Description field. Mods with the Manual installation type are supported on PC only.
- Q: What file format should images be in?
- A: Supported formats are
JPGandPNG. Images should be in the same format as the Logo — 920x1080, 16:9. Maximum file size is 8 MB.
- Q: What does the Automatically Publish option on a mod mean?
- A: If this checkbox is enabled, the mod will be automatically published after a successful moderation, provided that it has at least one version. Once published, it becomes available to players. If this checkbox is disabled, the mod will remain hidden after moderation and will not be available to players until you publish it manually.
- Q: What does the Automatically Publish option on a version/mod file mean?
- A: If this checkbox is enabled, the version/mod file will be automatically published after a successful moderation, as long as the mod itself is already published or has the Automatically Publish option enabled. If this checkbox is disabled, the version will remain in the Created status after moderation and will not appear on the portal until you publish it manually.
Tip
We recommend keeping both Automatically Publish options enabled to speed up the publication of your mod.
- Q: What does the Pending status mean when uploading a version/mod file?
- A: The Pending status means that the file is being checked for malicious software. This check usually takes about a minute.
- Q: How will I know that my mod has passed moderation?
- A: After moderation, you will receive an email with the moderation results at the email address linked to your PROS account. You can unsubscribe from these email notifications on the PROS portal under: Account Settings > Subscriptions > Send notifications about changes in the status of my mods and versions.
- Q: I have a question about the PROS portal. For example, I disagree with the moderation results. What should I do?
- A: You can contact our mods support team by sending us an email at [email protected].
- Q: Where can I talk to other mod authors and the modding community?
- A: There are multiple places where modding is discussed in depth by an active community of modders. The most popular community-run Discord server for modding is SnowRunner - RoadCraft - Expeditions.
